About
Wladi Turkewitsch, the happy owner of KMS, has quite a peculiar hobby. He actually has a few but the one that mostly drags his passion is… mastering.
He achieved 30 glorious years as Broadcast Sound Engineer @ RSI (radio & TV of the Italian Switzerland), working on mobile units as production studios and has basically seen (and heard) just about anything. Sports, from soccer to the winter Olympics; talk-shows, live concerts (Mingardi, Ruggeri, even Premiata Forneria Marconi), comedies and theatre (Aldo, Giovanni e Giacomo, Beppe Grillo, Enzo Jacchetti), live music festivals (featuring artists as Steps Ahead, Mike Stern, Yellowjackets and Jethro Tull, to name a few)… He even has a Grammy, earned with the production of Joe Zawinul and his Syndicate.
And now, in his spare time, he runs his mastering studio, with a view on the lake, in Contra.
Engineer
Wladi began his interest in sound as a keyboard player in local groups, using samplers, synthesizers and recording and mixing live bands. In the early 80`s he was involved as sound engineer in a private service company named Polivideo, doing tv production for various national and international networks, includind Mediaset, RAI, ABC, NBC and CBS Sports. Beginning 1996 a new start, again as sound engineer at the Swiss broadcast corporation SSR/RSI in Lugano. Involved in ENG/EFP crews, on OB vans and Studio productions. Acquiring engineering skills and expertise with production of drama, talk shows, sports, festivals and musicals with prominent artists.
